Standard Oil of California Flag
California Oil Co. - The acronym for California Standard Oil (Calso) in white letters on a red field
California Transport Corp
California Tanker Company. California Transport Corp, California Tanker Company, and Socal Marine Department were consolidated in 1957 and then became Chevron Shipping Company in 1984
The chevron was first used as a trademark of Standard Oil of California in 1931. The flag was use on tankers

Caltex Tanker Flags
This flag was mentioned as being used by Caltex, but I can not verify
The Caltex Flag was copied from the Texaco Flag
Ampol Later Caltex

In May 1995, Caltex and Ampol merged petroleum refining and marketing assets to form Australian Petroleum Pty Ltd which, in 1997, became Caltex Australia Ltd. The Ampol brand remains in use to this day, primarily in country areas where customer loyalty and strong brand-recognition are factors.
Texaco Tanker Flags
This appears to be the first flag flown on Texaco tankers
After the first trademark was registered by Texaco in 1906 they adopted this flag
This was the flag on Texaco tankers at the time of the merger
  Gulf Oil Tanker Flags
The house flag of J. M. Guffey Petroleum Company tankers ca 1907
Gulf Refining Company was organized in 1910 to refine and market crude oil produced by Guffey Petroleum. In 1907 Andrew Mellon bought Guffey Petroleum. Ships then flew this flag until after WW II
By the end of the 1960s, Gulf was one of the largest oil companies in the world. Around the 1950's this flag was adopted

Union Oil of California Tanker Flags
This appears to be the first flag of the company's tanker fleet, which consisted of 8 ships as of 1949
The blue and white diagonally striped flag was adopted in 1966 on the 76th anniversary
This was the flag when Union got out of the tanker business around 1998
